DCDSNB Family Advisory Council - Who We Are

The Family Advisory Council (FAC) is an organization of supporters of the
Darlington County Disabilities & Special Needs Board.

Members include interested service participants, family members and advocates.

The FAC promotes understanding between families and DCDSNB by providing a forum for the exchange of information, ideas and concerns, as well as a chance to meet and fellowship with other family members. Meetings are held quarterly.

The FAC provides support through a wide range of fundraising activities to fund special parties and events during the year for those we serve, their family members and staff. DCDSNB receives State and Federal funds to cover most of the needs of the service participants. However, these monies cannot be used to fund parties and social events such as the Valentine Social, Spring Picnic, Summer Day at the Movies, Fall Dance, Thanksgiving Dinner and the Christmas Party. These events are highlights of the year for our service participants, and would not be possible without the support of the FAC.
